A Day Out in London

I love a day out in London it’s not hard

With a one-day travel card

This will get me around without a fuss

By tube, train or bus

The first stop is Covent Garden for a coffee and a bun

And watch the street entertainers who are so much fun

Down to Tower Bridge to catch a boat here

For a trip on the Thames to Westminster Pier

See the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben

Look up what is the time then

Walk down Whitehall see the PM’s seat

At 10 Downing Street

Rest and view at Trafalgar Square

The National Gallery is also there

From the top of The Mall Buckingham Palace can be seen

Enjoy the walk -where many processions have been

As you peer through the Palace gates look the Royal Standard is flying today

That means the King is inside for a stay

Then a bus around Hyde Park to Oxford Street

Oh dear lot of shops to visit oh my poor feet

To the river at Tattershall Castle an old passenger ferry

Now moored and a place to eat drink and be merry

So it’s the evening where can I go

Let’s find a ticket for a West End show

Time to go home and catch the train

So much more I could have seen, I will be back again
