Distant Memory
Right now, I am strolling along the green sidewalks of Gaien Nishi Dori Avenue. I am 80 centimeters tall and proud of my long legs and pure white fur. I am called Borzoi, which means agile in Russian. However, I walk very slowly to keep up with my two males of the human animal followers. People say I'm proud, but I'm not like common dogs, so it's only natural. The memories that linger in my blood from my ancestors are vivid. I ran around in all directions chasing rabbits in the snowfield as far as the eye can see.I was also very good at zigzag running. I even competed with horses controlled by humans, and I could run long distances with ease. The sky and forests were big. I could see the frozen city of Petersburg in winter and the Neva River from the back of my eyes.
I used to travel all over Europe with my masters. They enjoyed walking their Borzoi, so they were proud of my ancestors, whether they were in tidal Venice or the smoky Thames River. So I've seen a lot of different landscapes.
About 2000 years ago, on the edge of the Mediterranean, there was a lot of talk about the Son of God, and then there were religious conflicts and other troubles. 2000 years later, human beings are still fighting the same kind of conflicts, and they have not progressed much. About 200 years ago in Europe, there were revolutions, dictatorships, famines, and many large-scale wars, which were also very difficult. Even now, people are invading and being invaded, and I don't understand the human desire for conquest.
I have heard from a distant relative that even here in Tokyo there were tanks running around. Many small bombs were dropped from the sky and the whole Tokyo area was on fire. I have no idea why humans kill each other, because I have never fought with Shepherds or Shiba Inus.
